Research bike on the road in Ingolstadt

As part of the SAVeNoW research project, the German Aerospace Center (DLR) conducted test rides with its BoBBi research bicycle, which is equipped with a wide range of sensor technology, at the intersection of Ringlerstrasse and Hindenburgstrasse in Ingolstadt from June 27 to 29. In the process, the scientists collected data on how cyclists interact with right-turning vehicles and how cyclists follow each other. With the help of the data, the project participants want to understand how cyclists interact and communicate with other road users. With the knowledge gained, the SAVeNoW project will develop procedures to increase the safety of cyclists in traffic. tvingolstadt was also there and has produced a short report:
